What we collect, why, who we give it to, how long we keep it, and how to make us stop.

This policy covers everyone who uses walldockdeck.com — property owners, real estate agents and visitors. It covers what happens when you read a page, download a guide, submit an enquiry, request a Shore Score, text our number or book an inspection.
We are the controller of your information. We decide what we collect and why. We are not handling it on anyone else's behalf.
If you ask us to connect you with a contractor, we give that contractor your personal information — your name, your contact details, your property address and what you told us about the structure.
That contractor is an independent business. Once they have your details they use them for their own purposes, under their own privacy policy, and we no longer control what they do with them.
Under California and some other state laws this may be a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, because contractors pay us for referrals. You can opt out. See Your Privacy Choices, or email hello@walldockdeck.com with the subject line Privacy request.
We say this first, and plainly, because it is the whole point of our business and you should not have to hunt for it.
You give us:
We record automatically:
We obtain from other sources:
We do not want, and ask you not to send: financial account numbers, payment card numbers, Social Security or other government identifiers, or health information. We have no use for any of it. If you send it anyway we will delete it.
We may publish aggregated, de-identified statistics — for example how many walls in a county show a given condition. That data identifies neither you nor your property.
We do not use your information to train AI models, and our AI provider is contractually prohibited from training on it.
Contractors. As described in section 2. Each receives your name, contact details, property address and enquiry. We give your enquiry to the contractor covering your area, and we do not sell your details to multiple contractors to bid on.
Service providers. Companies that run the site and deliver our messages — hosting, our CRM, email and SMS delivery, and our AI provider. They act on our instructions and may not use your information for their own purposes. Named at Service Providers.
Mobile numbers are never shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing. Your number goes only to the carrier needed to deliver a message you consented to, and to the contractor for your area where you asked to be connected. This is a commitment we have filed with the mobile carriers.
Legal and safety. Where required by law, or to protect rights, property or safety.
Business transfer. If the business is sold or merged, with notice where required.
Covered in full by the SMS Terms. In short: you opt in by ticking an unchecked box next to your phone number or by texting us first. Message frequency varies, up to 10 messages a month. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Consent is never required to get anything from us.
STOP stops our messages. It does not reach a contractor who already has your details. Contact that contractor directly, and tell us at hello@walldockdeck.com so we stop referring you.
See the Cookie Policy for the current position, which is the authoritative one. If we add analytics or advertising tags, we will update that policy and put a consent control in place before they go live, not after.
| What | How long |
|---|---|
| An enquiry that did not go anywhere | 24 months from your last contact with us |
| An enquiry we referred to a contractor | 5 years, for the referral record |
| Your consent record | 5 years after you opt out or we last contact you |
| Suppression list — people who opted out | Permanently. This is the only way to be sure we never message you again |
| Site logs | 12 months |
We keep consent records longest on purpose. If someone later claims we contacted them without permission, that record is how we show otherwise. Keeping it protects you as much as us.
Longer where the law requires it.
We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical and organisational measures, described at Security Overview.
No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your personal information we will notify you as required by law, including Florida Statutes § 501.171, which requires notice within 30 days.
We and our service providers process information in the United States. We do not target or market to people outside the United States. If you are in a jurisdiction that restricts transfers and you contact us, email hello@walldockdeck.com and we will tell you what safeguards apply before you send us anything.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
How to exercise them. Email hello@walldockdeck.com with the subject line Privacy request. Tell us which right you are exercising and give us the email address or phone number you used, so we can find your record. We verify before we act.
How fast. Within 45 days. If we need longer we will tell you within that 45 days and take no more than a further 45.
Authorised agents. Someone may act for you with written proof of authorisation. We may still ask you to confirm it directly.
Appeals. If we decline, we will tell you why, and you may appeal by replying. A different person reviews the appeal and responds within the time the law allows. If you are still unsatisfied you may contact the Florida Attorney General, or your own state's attorney general.
One honest limit. If we have already given your details to a contractor, we can delete our copy but we cannot delete theirs. We will tell you which contractor received it and when, so you can ask them directly. We would rather say this plainly than let you find out later.
This Site is for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, email hello@walldockdeck.com and we will delete it.
We may update this policy. If a change is material we will post it with a new date and, where we have your email address, tell you at least 14 days before it takes effect.
