10% of waterway width15% (max 40 ft) on waterways over 100 ft wide

In Miami Beach no dock, pile or other structure may reach more than 10% of a canal's width from the seawall. On waterways wider than 100 ft the limit is 15% of the width, never more than 40 ft, and on Biscayne Bay or any waterway over 1,000 ft wide a residential dock may reach up to 125 ft with state and county approval. A moored boat may not stick out past the same limits.
