Miami Beach's single-family rules set pool decks and platforms 6 ft from the rear line (pool water 7.5 ft), but where the lot abuts a bay or canal the pool deck may extend to the property line and connect to a dock. Porches, platforms and terraces may project into yards only up to 30 inches above the yard elevation.
