Do I need a permit to repair a seawall in Islamorada?

Yesvillage building permit

Yes. Islamorada requires building permits as the Florida Building Code provides and for any work subject to floodplain rules, and its minor-repair exemption applies only under $2,500. Deteriorated seawalls may be repaired or replaced within their footprint, but the code calls for repair with riprap and native vegetation, allowing a bulkhead only if the director finds riprap is not feasible.
