What does a seawall cost in Coral Gables?

Sized to the boat, plus a city bondthe vessel sets the price

A boat lift is priced to a specific vessel, not to a dock, so two neighbours with the same dock can pay very different amounts. Coral Gables also requires a refundable bond on top of the contract, which catches people out because it is not in anyone's bid. We do not publish a figure - the boat decides it.

The detail

What sets the priceCapacity, and therefore the weight and beam of the boat. A lift is specified to a vessel, not to a slip.
Water depth at the dockShallower water needs different geometry and sometimes different equipment.
Specified to the boatBunk spacing, cradle configuration and decking all follow from the hull. Get them written into the bid.
The city bondCoral Gables requires a performance bond set by the Public Works Director - a minimum of $1,000 or 25% of the estimated cost, whichever is lesser, and a maximum of 100% of it, held for at least six months after completion. Code Sec. 109-42(e)(3). A separate refundable damage deposit may also apply. Neither is in the contractor's number.
Agency fees are yoursPermit fees are generally paid by the owner directly to the agencies, not through the contractor.
A benthic survey may be requiredIf the agencies ask for one, it is an additional owner cost. Ask early whether your location is likely to trigger it.
What to ask forThe lift capacity in pounds, the product and model, and a written list of what the owner pays outside the contract.
